Job Description
- Determines the items to be purchased for the store’s inventory based on a good grasp of its clientele preference and the type of merchandise the store wants;
- Timely submits reports as may be requested by management such as sales level forecasts, and sales turnover
- Conducts studies on customer demands and their buying patterns to help the team in formulating buying decisions and be able to maximize profits;
- Handles functions related to inventory management and considers customer demands, price, quality as well as availability of merchandise;
- Does sourcing of merchandise and conducts review of existing items in the inventory to ensure that products remain competitive;
- Helps formulate decisions about what to sell and how much based on their knowledge of fashion, market trends, and customer needs;
- Coordinates with management to discuss planning for stock levels, and financial budgeting, promotions, price markdowns and advertising;
- Analyses stock levels and movement of goods using information gathered from store personnel;
- Gets updates on relevant legal information such as consumer rights, use of trademarks, store licensing and similar requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- College graduate, with related experience in these key areas of accountability
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical and leadership skills
- Good in retail math skills
- Knowledgeable in the retail market and the principles involved in it
