As a Maritime Trainee in Höegh Autoliners, you will be part of a company with over 90 years of history in the maritime industry, with the most extensive network of offices across the globe, where you will be trained and developed for a long term career.

The Maritime Trainee Program, organised in conjunction with the Norwegian Shipowners' Association, is a two-year program providing you with experience in different roles so that you can gain a better understanding of the maritime business, as well as find out where your key strengths and interests lie.

This program aims to develop young professionals to take on future roles in the shipping industry and offers extensive training in the daily operations of Höegh Autoliners, developing a good understanding of our business operations. You will experience a number of roles across the organization during the trainee period. You will be assigned to different roles based on business needs and priorities as well as your career aspirations, and you will be appointed a mentor who will conduct coaching sessions related to your current rotation, your general development, and relevant business topics going forward.

The program will last for 22 months (subject to change pending travel restrictions due to Covid-19) based on practical work experience in tandem with some theoretical education. You will be offered a permanent position with us from day one, and will move into a suitable role once the program has been satisfactorily completed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Recent master’s graduate in a technical or commercial subject relevant to Business Management, Finance and Accounting, or IT.
• Excellent digital competence and a keen interest in AI, IoT, automation and robotics, applied in a business/operational context in the logistics/shipping industry
• Naturally curious and eager to learn, with strong analytical skills
• Dares to challenge and think outside the box
• A collaborator and effective team player
• Excellent English communication skills, preferably in other languages too
• Good digital competence and experience with Microsoft 365 applications
• International experience through studies/work/other is desirable
