Job Description

Global Manufacturing IT provides Manufacturing applications and architectural standards for Goodyear’s manufacturing execution systems that are used to empower our manufacturing plants to produce high quality tires efficiently and with minimized losses. The quality of our service is ensured thru our implementation of industry standard ITIL practices. We act as a technology expert resource to support engineering, production, and quality teams on their projects and plant expansion initiatives. This includes but is not limited to the development of IT applications supporting new equipment and processes, as well as establishing the standards needed to transfer the technology to the manufacturing plants.

About the Position:

The Application Developer Analyst - IT Strategic Support will be responsible for the Global Manufacturing IT Application Support. This position is responsible for helping develop, configure solutions and support functional solutions on global level. This role will provide support to the functional area by learning to resolve level II incidents globally and supporting functional team subject matter experts. The incumbent will be expected to understand data relationships (i.e. relational data versus hierarchical data) and should be able to interpret basic system concepts using current documentation standards and methodologies (i.e. flow charts, data flow diagrams, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide level II incident resolution in the area of support. Document issue resolution for knowledge transfer as appropriate. Troubleshoot. Analyze problems, determine best course of action, and develop solutions to problems based upon facts, data and logical assumptions. Perform tasks necessary to ensure data integrity and system stability (40%).
  • Keep Global IT Manufacturing System environment up to date by driving and executing Software release and stack upgrades per coordination and agreement with the respective plan guaranteeing no system issues that impact production (30%)
  • Provide support for unit and integration testing of new or changed business/technical processes. Develop business/technical cycle tests for use by stakeholder community. Document all process changes and provide knowledge to relevant stakeholders. (10%)
  • Configure and implement 3rd party software packages where minimal customization, enhancement and testing will be required for integration into existing infrastructure. (15%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • 12-18 months experience in applying application support/development skills to a specific area of the business preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Associate must possess basic organizational, communication and time management skills. Associate may be given assignments that are time critical in nature.
  • Associate must participate as an active team member, practice effective listening skills and effective collaboration skills.
  • Associate must achieve all information technology objectives through use of approved standards, guidelines and recommendations.
  • This position interacts with higher-level Application Development associates and supervision. Will also work collaboratively with internal business user community through troubleshooting, problem identification and resolution. Associates may have involvement with 3rd party software vendors to complete a software configuration work.to provide optimal solutions and excellent customer service.
  • Able to work outside of standard business hours as needed to provide application support, system updates, and remote training

  • Ability to understand the business needs and deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to the business; works to anticipate, identify and meet end-user needs; drives outward results and ensures high-quality standards are met
  • Strong verbal and written communication with strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; takes on responsible roles and accountability for outcomes.
  • Ability to work flexible working hours as needed on special occasions
  • Basic knowledge of current Office product suite.
  • Knowledgeable of the current information technologies (programming languages) needed to support a specific business process.
