Job Description

  • Maintain general ledger with regard to payroll transactions
  • Oversee internal payroll and accounting audits on a semi-annual basis
  • Obtain and verify direct deposit banking information from employees
  • Verify all the overtime hours with the appropriate management personnel prior to issuing payroll checks
  • Calculate and deduct appropriate amounts from payroll checks, including tax withholding and other garnishments
  • Complete all HR reporting documents and submit them for senior manager approval
  • Process bi-weekly employee payroll payments on time and through the appropriate channels
  • Maintains payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
  • Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and
  • terminations is accurate and timely
  • Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Billing to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
  • Partner with HR and benefits in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system
  • Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contracts (union and non-union)
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required, license CPA is a plus
  • At least 3 years experience in human resources, payroll or accounting
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent mathematics and communication skills
  • Knows how to handle work pressure
  • With complete requirements such as NBI, Brgy., Police clearance, COE, SSS, Pag-ibig, Philhealth, TIN, Birth Cert. TOR or Diploma and others
