Carrier Procurement Manager  

We are looking for an experienced Carrier Procurement Manager to be responsible to source and secure carrier capacity that meets the needs of our internal and external customer requirements. You will develop/enhance operating procedures and strategize to find and build relationships with our carrier base. You will source carriers who are able to meet and exceed our service expectations. The Carrier Procurement Manager’s role is to discover the best ways to minimize our procurement expenses while maximizing capacity and service so that the company can keep up with and invest in its growth in a very dynamic and fast paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop procurement strategies and processes to support both volume RFP responses and transactional freight.
• Identify and develop relationships with a strategic carrier base that has the capacity and network service areas to meet Loadrunner’s growth goals.
• Responsible for carrier prospecting, management, negotiations, and relations leading to a strong long term partnership.
• Develop sourcing strategy supporting Loadrunner’s technology platform for new and existing markets.
• Contract negotiation of new and existing carrier contracts.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
• Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.

• BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent;
• Proven working experience with trucking companies/carriers with a minimum of 2 years working experience;
• Existing knowledge and relationship with national carrier network, forwarders and 3PLs a must.;
• Strong working knowledge of customer's supply chain requirements (shipper, 3pl, broker, forwarder);
• Strong knowledge of LTL, FTL spot, volume and contract pricing tariffs;
• Transportation RFP management experience;
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market;
• Talent in negotiations and networking;
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers;
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data;
• Strong leadership capabilities;
