Who we are:

HOPE was founded in 2012 with one Mission: to provide Filipinos with an easy way to vote with their peso about what was important to them. As an Impact Company, and the country’s 1st B Corp, we put Education at the forefront of our movement, building much-needed public school classrooms through the sale of Hope in Bottle water. In 2016, we branched out into Agriculture interventions that would help secure the livelihood of thousands of smallholder farmers through the Hope in a Coconut campaign in partnership with the world’s leading coconut water brands.

Most recently, in 2019, we created the Plastic Credit Exchange (www.plasticcreditexchange.com/), which works with game-changing companies to sustainably neutralize their plastic footprints to promote Environmentally responsible consumption and to make sure that we are working towards a safer, cleaner planet. About the role:

As our Accounting Officer, you will be part of the Accounting team responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of our growing company.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the book of accounts, including preparation of journal entries
• Assisting in the preparation of complete financial statements, payroll computation, and timely preparation of bank reconciliation
• Monitoring of Accounts Receivable and Collections
• Processing of Accounts Payable and Disbursement
• Updating of cash management reports
• Preparing tax computations and returns
• Monitoring of monthly accruals and depreciation of fixed assets
• Ensuring the company books are in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standard
• Implementing, maintaining, and improvement of internal financial controls and procedures
• Physical inventory count as needed
• Other areas include but are not limited to document verification, data entry operation, and administrative assistance.

Competencies:

We are looking for motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented candidates who are passionate about HOPE’s mission. Most importantly, you should also be excited about the prospect of operating independently in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

• Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Accounting. CPA is preferred but not required.
• Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in accountancy, bookkeeping, or finance, preferably in the FMCG, or any highly transactional industries
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Knowledgeable in financial reporting standards and practices
• Preferably with experience in using Netsuite
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be amenable to on-site work
