Job Description
- Lead the company's finance organization, develop and implement financial and operational plans to drive growth, and extend finance based decision-making throughout the company
- Establish, oversee and manage all finance activities including accounting, forecasting, planning, budgeting, internal control, financial systems, audit, reporting, treasury, insurance, and tax
- Establish and maintain relationships with the board of directors, the investor community (VC, PE, etc.), external auditors, analysts, and all other external parties that require financial information
- Work with CEO and senior management to develop and implement strategic business plans and operating initiatives
- Work with CEO and senior management on all major transactions including possible capital raises, debt, major partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, and joint ventures
- Define standards, policies, procedures, measures, and organizational enhancements to meet company goals for finance
- Create and define all financial reporting and business analytics
- Oversee corporate admin and act as legal officer of the company working closely with corporate lawyer in for all legal issues
- Work with the CEO and external partners to define compliance needs, priorities and policies, interpret legislative rules and regulations, ensure compliance with all government and contractual guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
- CPA highly desirable
- Minimum of 12 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles,
- Must be able to comfortably interact and communicate at the C-suite and Board level in a collegial and collaborative manner
- Experience taking a rapidly growing company through multiple phases of its lifecycle
- High proficiency with financial reporting
- Legal and contractual evaluation, management and oversight
- Fast and flexible learner and adaptable team leader
- Fundraising and financial exit management experience is a plus
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel, and high proficiency with systems desired (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, PeopleSoft…)
- Experienced with highly demanding, deadline driven environments
- Exceptional business acumen with a high degree of integrity and ethics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
