About G A Yupangco & Co., Inc
G A Yupangco & Co., Inc. is the Philippine Distributor of World-renowned Musical Instruments and Pro-Audio Equipment.
Gary A. Yupangco had built successful enterprises in the fields of textile manufacturing and real estate. Other than his family and some of his closest friends, few people knew that Gary was an accomplished musician. During more somber moments and away from the din of corporate life, he would be found playing classical masterpieces on his treasured Yamaha grand piano together with wife Nita, herself a gifted concert pianist. Genetics would eventually dictate that all of their 6 children would become musically endowed.
It was at one of these moments that Gary came to a realization. He observed that, like him, millions of other Filipinos were imbued with an inate musical gift that needed little prodding to be unleashed and developed into a skill. He was overcome with a desire to nurture that gift. He realized that the process had to begin with providing the Filipino with the best music education possible and by affording him with the finest musical instruments available.
Gary A. Yupangco also anticipated the dawning of a most significant period in the history of music - the Age of Electronics. It was an era of sophisticated technology ushered into by the introduction of the phenomenal electronic organ.
Thus, in early 1967, G. A. YUPANGCO & CO., INC. was founded simultaneously with YUPANGCO-YAMAHA MUSIC CORPORATION as the first Filipino-Japanese joint venture after the Second World War.
The music industry entered a new era with the surge of technological innovation that ensued countless Filipinos have joined the ranks of prominent European, American and other Asian musicians that performed in celebrated concert halls worldwide.
Gary A. Yupangco had finally fulfilled a once-sublimated desire and, with it, the musical desires of millions of Filipinos nationwide. Today, after 50 years, G. A. YUPANGCO & CO., INC., continues to serve the needs of the Filipino musician and music enthusiast, providing the state of the art in musical instruments and sound reinforcement technology and the finest in music education.
