Job Description
Job Summary:
The Accounting Officer is mainly responsible in the implementation of the company’s accounting directive in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures while being compliant to the existing law, regulations and GAAP. He/She is responsible for the entire Accounting Department and will supervise the Accounting Associate in the performance of his/her duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing various reports including but not limited to ad hoc financial reports performed by the Accounting Associate.
- Set financial security measures for the Department’s internal controls.
- Perform bank reconciliations in coordination with the treasury department.
- Generate profit and loss statements.
- Assures that all expenses must be captured and recorded accurately to maintain proper accounting records.
- Monitor and analyze balance sheet, general ledger, and income statement to produce the Financial Statements.
- Monitors compliance with government mandated payments, reports, and taxation requirements. Also, ensures that schedules on tax payments are reviewed and monitored.
- Reviews and analyzes all matters related to the transactions and processed data submitted by the Finance Associate and ensures that they Comply with the terms and conditions of the assigned project/company.
- Provide financial reports (i.e. income statements, financial statements, and interim reports) and interpret financial information to the Department Heads that will help them to make sound business decisions.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure proper monitoring of company finances. This may include preparation of all audit requirements for external auditors, and other government agencies.
- Constantly communicates with the client company regarding the accounting and financial needs.
- Manage the preparation of the Company’s annual budget in conjunction with the Department Heads.
- Oversee the accounting, administrative and other duties of the Accounting and Finance Department as deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant
- At least three (3) years experience in accounting or similar field
- At least one (1) year experience in a supervisory role
- Possess extensive knowledge in Philippine tax laws and regulations
- Possess extensive knowledge in generally accepted accounting principles
- Highly proficient and knowledgeable in using various database and accounting software
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
- Possess excellent attention to detail
- Preferably with experience working in a start-up shared services company
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Persuasive with details and facts
- Develop and manages budget and has oversight experience
- Demonstrate high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace
- Possess collaborative management style and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
- Excel at operating in a fast faced and diverse working environment
