FILIPINO SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS, AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS, INC. The Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. is a government-accredited collective management organization for music creators and copyright owners which primarily licenses the public performance and communication to the public of copyrighted local and foreign musical compositions in the Philippines. It is a member of the Paris-based Confederation Internationale des Societes d’ Auteurs et Compositeurs (CISAC) which is the umbrella organization of the composer societies around the world. FILSCAP represents the public performance and communication to the public rights of both local and foreign composers, lyric-writers and music publishers. As such, FILSCAP administers, owns or controls in the Philippines an extensive worldwide repertoire of copyrighted local and foreign musical works. FILSCAP’s role is to grant permission or license to, and collect license fees from, music users and to distribute the corresponding royalties to music creators and copyright owners for usage of their works. Currently, FILSCAP has over 1000 local members, including such famous names in the Filipino songwriting industry as Constancio C. De Guzman, Simplicio Suarez, Lucrecia Kasilag, Levi Celerio, Tito Arevalo, Josefino Cenizal, Restie Umali, George Canseco, Lucio San Pedro, Ernani Cuenco, Ryan Cayabyab, Willy Cruz, Jose Mari Chan, Jim Paredes, Joey Ayala, Rico Blanco, Kean Cipriano, Chito Miranda, Kat Agarrado and Kitchie Nadal.
