Job Description
The Product Manager develops, recommends and implements marketing & sales plan for assigned products to achieve maximum sales and profit potentials. He formulates and implements Training and Development Programs for account executives, trainees, and other sales personnel in the division assigned to him.
Nature and Scope
The Product Manager’s role is to develop product plans, implement them, monitor the results and take corrective action. Product Manager must plan his work effectively and organize himself and his resources to meet objectives.
Specific Duties
- The Product Manager interacts with District Managers and Account Executives for assistance in the implementation of sales and promotion programs/products and feedback of customers’ reactions.
- The Product Manager must develop a smooth relationship characterized by cooperation and mutual respect with DMs and AEs to ensure assistance from them to satisfactorily meet requirements of the job.
- The approval of the Sales Manager and Sales Director is necessary for all the projects of the Product Manager.
- New Product Developments. The Product Manager drafts a comprehensive plan which upon approval by the Sales Manager and the Sales Director will be implemented accordingly. The Product Manager initiates product development work through close coordination with other field personnel like DMs and AEs, advertising agencies and other possible service groups.
- Marketing Development. Product Manager must develop his market by continuously increasing demand of assigned products providing a sound foundation for continuing growth.
- Ability to increase demand of assigned products.
- Ability to consistently increase demand for new products.
Initiates Controls Relative to Programs.
- Closely adhere to approved budgets and schedules on assigned products.
- Develop forms and measures to help ensure good monitoring to assigned products’ performance.
- Establishes Monthly, Quarterly Product Forecast and discuss it with the Sales Manager.
- Assists Account Executives in conducting product demos, especially on high-end equipment.
- Develops and handles special projects assigned to him by the Immediate superior with the approval of the Director for Sales and Operations.
- Other tasks that may assign from time to time.
Constraints
- Critical decisions/actions – to be reviewed by either the Sales Manager and /or the Sales Director.
- Draft and execution of marketing programs/projects – coordination and approval of the Sales Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- With atleast 3years experience in Sales;
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
