Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the strategic and tactical activities of the accounting team to ensure accuracy, efficient and compliance with all company and governmental requirements, laws and regulations.
  • Oversees general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as Balance Sheets, Profit-and-Loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.
  • Manages the preparation, recording, analyzing and reporting of accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Reviews, analyzes, plans and forecasts expenses for one or more business units.
  • Prepares statutory accounts and financial statements and reports.
  • Reviews various financial statements and reports, to identify discrepancies, research and provide explanations for variances. Statements may include but are not limited to Balance Sheet reconciliations, Profit and Loss fluctuation analysis, journal entries, wire transfers, and escrow accounts.
  • Develops and implements new or change existing processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies and eliminate redundancies.
  • Develops and sustains strong internal and external relationships.
  • Conducts departmental audits to ensure adherence to processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to the accounting staff.
  • Provides oversight for the accounting and finance database systems.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing accounting functions concerning the accuracy and maintenance of financial information.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience required.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Four years of Accounting, Reporting, Analysis and management/related work experience required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics:
    • Financial analytical skills and proficient with researching variances.
    • Proven bottom line responsibility and dedication to customer/client satisfaction.
    • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
    • Knowledge and compliance with U.S. legislation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
    • Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel knowledge required.
    • Experience in writing Crystal reports preferred.
    • Excellent financial analytical skills, proficient with researching variances, and preparing financial projections.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
    • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
