Job Description
REPORTS TO: Board of Governors
JOB PURPOSE:
The position serves as the “Chief Operating Officer” of the village and is responsible for all functions and overall direction of the village's organization towards achievement of its strategies and plans.
KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
- Overall administration and supervision of all service personnel.
- Effective implementation of the Association’s policies, rules and procedures.
- Effective representation of the Village interests with the community, local government and other governmental regulatory agencies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run the organization in line with board direction.
- Communicate village’s Vision, Mission and Values to inspire and build commitment of employees and mobilize the whole organization towards the achievement of village’s strategies and goals.
- Lead and direct the organization in the delivery of efficient and effective services for the village community.
- Keep the board educated and informed of the progress and issues on implementation of the strategic plan.
- Seek the board’s counsel.
- Recommend goals and policies concerning the development and improvement of Village operations, supported by background information.
- Make operational decisions in the context of the mission, vision, values and strategy and bring to the board well-documented recommendations.
- Build and maintain productive relationships and win-win partnerships with key stakeholders such as members/residents, employees and 3rd party service providers, suppliers, local government and other regulatory agencies and the community.
- Supervise the staff, manage their performance and institute appropriate training, rewards and disciplinary measures.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A graduate of a four-year college degree, preferably with a master’s degree in Business Administration
- At least five years of work experience managing a private, public, or non-profit organization that provides service and advice to customers or clients
- Preferably with special training or equivalent experience in Association Management
