Job Description
The Designer is tasked with conceptualizing and executing various forms of visual content that are in support of the client's communication objectives. He/She will collaborate with clients and other employees to produce compelling and effective visual content.
The role will report to the Art Director, and Creatives Director.
Research & Strategy
- Research and stay up to date on trends in the fields of marketing and design
- Look for resources to be used in a design (photos, vectors, etc.)
- Design pitch decks in collaboration with project teams and provide sample posts to be presented to client for approval
- Meet with client to discuss possible/suggested executions as well as provide assistance/guidance on use of visual design
- Attend relevant events to know more about client (products, services, etc.) or to gain additional knowledge/skills as a designer (workshops, etc.)
Production
- Produce final art for various platforms (social media, print, web, etc.) using different visual methods and tools, and within agreed upon timelines/deadlines
- Conduct feasibility checking with copywriter when creating editorial calendars
- Draft/format articles using content management system (Wordpress, MailChimp, etc.)
- Consult with senior designer for implementation of art direction and/or playbook
- Apply client revisions within reasonable turnaround times
- Organize files per client for documentation and turnover to team and/or client
- Ensures that all final art / produced content is aligned with design brief and client strategy
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to gather and distill insights to create informed strategies and tell compelling visual stories
- Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in standard design tools and software (Adobe Suite)
- Aesthetic and practical proficiency in different visual concepts and applications (image editing, manipulation and composition; illustration, typography, layout)
- Knowledge and ability to employ additional techniques or know-how in the production of deliverables (photography, animation, basic video production, web design/development)
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, with a focus on human-centered design
- Ability to process information, identify problems, and recommend solutions
- Creative curiosity and eagerness for further learning
