Merchandiser  

The Merchandiser/Designer conducts market research and trend analysis on what products to purchase. Responsible in product buying and overseeing target delivery to ensure availability of the products in the store. Responsible in artistic and creative store visual display, conceptualize and design product packaging and labels, conducts product presentation to sales personnel for familiarization to help achieve company goals and objective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares monitoring reports and conducts product sales study;
• Plans the items to be released in the store in a timely manner depending on the current stock level in the stores/ warehouse and market demand;
• Analyze every aspect of the fast moving products on price point, color and style;
• Monitors slow moving products and implement marketing strategies to move the items like price reductions or appropriate and timely sales promotion;
• Gathers customer feedback from the Sales Promodisers regarding the products;
• Conducts new product orientation to Sales Promodisers and Retail Area Supervisors;
• Prepares product order sheet and costing;
• Negotiates with suppliers on prices, stock ordering, timescales and delivery dates;
• Ensures the status of the product based on quality and appearance before delivery to the stores;
• Identify production and supply difficulties and deals with any problems or delays as they arise ensuring that the product arrives in the warehouse on time;
• Prepares inspection report for agent's product checking abroad;
• Inspects the quality of the actual merchandise upon arrival comparing it from what was seen during buying;
• Coordinates with the Department store buyers for the area layout, product discount scheme, product highlight, new products, buying plans, etc.
• Go for the buying trip;
• Implements creative and artistic visual merchandise display of products in the store;
• Prepares sketches, drawings and detailed computer layout for submission to the supplier abroad;
• Orders and checks product samples prior to the production of the items;
• Conducts Product Photoshoots
• Performs other tasks assigned;

• College graduate of any course
• With relative experience in the same field
• Can work with minimum supervision
