Job Description
A large international company is looking for a Process & Product Engineer for its Asia R&D Hub in Cebu. Join a world leader in research and development for automotive parts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures analysis of specifications, functional constraints, follow-up of production equipment and their adjustment/commissioning
- Ensures processes for RFQ and project developments (production equipment, takt time evaluation, operator load evaluation)
- Defines the production means and guarantees their feasibility
- Pilots and animates the follow-up of tooling and production means quotes during the prototype and mass production phases
- In charge of tools specifications for sub-contractors, designs of tools and realization of their drawings
- Pilots the adjustment and the validation of tools and production means and participates in its trials and adjustments
- In charge of trial/progress reports, as well as different control and approval certificates
- Defines the production flow-chart and its associated validations
- Contributes to the writing of the FMEA process
- Ensures that all the technical elements are ready for plant transfer
- Participates in the RETEX (return on experience)
- Is responsible for the takt times, lead times and costs of the tools and production means
- Supports the production plants during the ramp up phases
- Ensures the training of the operators and/or maintenance team
- Contributes to the manufacturing of prototypes
- Makes follow ups to sub-contractors and is the main contact for production plants regarding tools or production means
- Contributes to the definition of process standards in terms of technological choices and design rules
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or fields related to Mechanics or Plastic process.
- Experience: At least 3 years work experience in the automotive industry. Experience in design and adjustment/commissioning of production equipment is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge in milling, mechanics, plastic processing and/or assembly
- Adept at writing of work instructions, action plans and meeting reports
- Knowledge/training in FMEA risk analysis, APQP, ISO TS 16949
- Skilled in CAD/3D design tools
- Project management and leadership skills
- With analytical competence, strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Creative, open-minded, innovative
- Good English written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Responsible and proactive
- Ability to form good relationships and to work within a team
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- With excellent time management
- Able to work with minimal supervision
