Minimum Qualifications:
Graduated from college

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Marketing or a business-related course

Experience: At least 5-10 years’ experience in the retail (supermarket, wholesale, department store formats) industry, both in the Philippines and abroad. At least 3 years of merchandising experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

Business understanding: Proven understanding of the retail industry in the Philippines and knowledge of Bicol’s market dynamics and players


  • Highly analytical and performance-oriented, with an understanding of relevant KPIs
  • Ability to effectively plan and implement strategies and initiatives
  • Excellent people and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Skilled in conflict management
  • Customer-oriented and able to attend to customer feedbacks and complaints
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling him/her to communicate well to all levels in store operations
  • Knowledgeable in sales, marketing and merchandising in a retail setting
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Willing to work in/relocate to Bicol region
Job Description
  • Responsible for planning, sourcing and selection of products for the retail chain
  • Prepares and leads the purchasing activities, including order management
  • Manages the database of suppliers and external partners
  • Leads the buying negotiations and seeks to provide product range at competitive prices
  • Coordinates quality control on goods and supplies
  • Performs analysis on consumer buying patterns and keeps up to date with market trends
  • Responsible for collecting information from different markets to make informed decision on items for selling
  • Responsible for new merchandise and ensuring availability of existing products
  • Ensures all stores are in compliance with product placement and merchandising standards
  • Monitors ageing of merchandise and supervises disposal
  • Prepare analytical reports on sales performance and forecasting sales level
  • Suggest improvements based on benchmark practices and share best practices with peers
