Job Description
- Monitor and maintain uptime.
- Ensure the infrastructure runs fast and smooth.
- Identify and eliminate security problems and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage deployments and make sure we’re always running the latest stable versions possible and taking care of patches.
- Communicate with the development team to ensure the infrastructure meets the application requirements.
- Continuously improve the infrastructure through the use of new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Built brand new or maintained existing infrastructure in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
- Solid scripting skills (e.g. PHP, Python, Bash, Ruby, etc).
- Experience with:
- process automation/configuration using Puppet, Chef, Ansible or other atuomation tools.
- Load Balancing, DB Clustering, and High Availability.
- setting up and deploying a version controlled application using Git.
- caching systems such as Redis, Varnish, Apc and etc.
- MySQL administration and performance benchmarking.
- Database backup and recovery.
- benchmarking scalability based on the traffic prediction.
- logging infrastructure and tools such as Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana or equivalent.
