Business Development Officer  

Responsible for the accreditation, marketing, management and acquisition of new partners/ subagents.

Business Development and Expansion

• Generate and increase sub-agent (SA) client base within area of responsibility
• Perform end-to-end accreditation of qualified sub-agents based on accreditation parameters
• Review contracts and agreements, and facilitate formal contract signing with sub-agents
• Manage and coordinate end-to-end set-up of new SA locations
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of documents submitted by the sub-agents
• Keep track of the validity of sub-agent contracts and perform renewal evaluation and renewal based on set provisions and company parameters
• Extend marketing support to the SAs by facilitating the launch and/or re-launch of marketing activities
• Conduct competitor analysis, trade area, credit and business profitability evaluation

Account Portfolio Management

• Project manage the setting up of the sub-agent location in close coordination with the sub-agents and internal partners:
• Ensure automation of sub-agent locations and coordinate system troubleshooting with support unit partners (eg. IT and CSC).
• Ensure timely and proper account activation of the sub-agent locations by closely coordinating with Western Union concerned eBiz support group (IT,CSC)
• Communicate advisories, promotions, incentives, compliance and other business related matters to sub agents and concerned support units
• Perform sub-agent Location Mystery Shopping, point of sale (POS) checking and ocular visits
• Conduct Product and Western Union related training and orientations to sub-agent employees
• Assist the SAs in their license application to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in operating the remittance service
• Ensure the point of POS materials are updated and implemented across all sub-agent accounts
• Ensure compliance of all Sub-agent account to all regulations, policies and mandates of Western Union, BSP and eBiz and other governing agencies as applicable
• Handle and coordinate various sub-agent related transactions and processes with different support units i.e. CSC, IT, Marketing, Treasury, Branches, AFM

Account Administration

• Conduct Business Reviews and presentations to top and middle management of sub-agents to ensure achievement of volume targets and client satisfaction
• Prepare the following on regular basis (as required based on et timelines / SLAs):
  • Sales performance reports of SAs handled
  • Competitor survey and analysis reports
  • Regulatory, market, demographics and business plan reports
  • P&L analysis reports of SAs
• Maintain list and fact sheet of sub-agent handled

Relationship Management

• Facilitate and provide solutions to sub-agent requests, operational concerns and / or complaints
• Conduct team building and planning activities to sub-agents employees (on per SA basis) as part of value-added services given to the SAs
• Organize (together with other Business Development Officers) annual sub-agent general assemblies / events / national conference.

• College graduate of a 4-year course with majors on any of the following:
  • Business Administration
  • Marketing
  • Management or any other related course
• Minimum 2 year(s) relevant work experience in sales and service oriented field, preferably on retail and financial field
• Experience as Junior Relations Manager/Customer Relations Manager/Sales and Business Expansion Officer is an advantage.
• Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in Marketing/Business Development or equivalent.
