E. ZOBEL FOUNDATION, INC - CHED IRSE Grants

The Enrique Zobel Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental organization established on April 24, 1990. Its founding principle was based on the personality and character of the late Mr. Enrique Zobel. Mr. Enrique Zobel, also known as EZ to many of us, has been specially blessed with a good and comfortable life and he recognized his greater responsibility to help others without expectation or repayment. He believed that if those people who have been blessed financially, intellectually or socially, would embrace this responsibility to help those who are less fortunate, then we would have a more caring society where there is less greed, envy and more cooperation and sense of community. Its primary purpose is to advance the opportunities for the education of the youth of Calatagan, Batangas. In its original statement of purposes, the Foundation hoped to cater to the needs of a broader group of marginalized members of society - the physically disabled, ethnic minorities, victims of natural disasters and calamities, children handicapped by physical or financial cause and school dropouts. It is accredited as a Donee Institution by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) offering tax deductibility incentives on donations made to the Foundation. The Department of Social Welfare and Development awarded EZF as the BEST NGO-Community Based in 2015 and is also an active member of the Association of Foundations.
