Job Description
Working as an account executive means performing extensive research and learning all about the company’s products, marketing goals, and needs. Some work in a sales capacity, securing new business and maintaining customer relationships, while others inherit an account after the initial sales have been made, providing ongoing support and serving as a primary point of contact. Because they are responsible for creating and sustaining long-term customer relationships, account executives are often seen as essential to an organization's’ success.
The primary goal of an account executive is to build sales by prospecting for new clients and generating income by nurturing existing customer relationships. If the customers have questions, concerns, or requests, account executives will relay their needs to the appropriate individual or department within the company and follow up with the customer.
At times, account executives may be called upon to conduct market research on competitors, including service pricing and sales techniques. Making sales presentations to potential customers and preparing contracts are additional job duties.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting clients to discuss their needs.
- Negotiating with clients, problem-solving, and making sure deadlines are met.
- Keeping in contact with the client at all progress stages of the project.
- Making pitches to win new business.
- Presenting the product/service to the client in a favorable and structured professional way in a face-to-face meeting.
- Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale.
- Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
- Negotiating the terms of an argument and closing sales.
- Gathering market and customer information.
- Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions.
- Reviewing your own sales performance with the aim to meet or exceed targets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be computer literate;
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills;
- Good organization and time management skills;
- Good business sense and the ability to work to budgets;
- Attention to detail;
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills;
- Confident, tact, professional, and a persuasive manner;
- A self-motivated, proactive performer;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Excellent leadership abilities;
- Ability to develop lasting professional relationships with clients;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply;
- With 1-2 years of working experience under sales is a plus;
