Job Description
Back-end engineer is responsible to add utility to everything the front-end designer creates: takes finished front-end code and gives it working functionality. Back-end engineer creates and maintains the entire back-end function outlined above.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing all parts of the service system
- Plan and execute the data model structure for scalability
- Write code and design secure applications
- Participate in all phases of the development cycle, focusing on coding, testing, and debugging
- Maintain or enhance existing data structures
- Conduct research, evaluate and analyze technical and design requirements
- Troubleshoot problems and fix bugs/ weaknesses in websites and other systems to ensure the server runs optimally
- Formulate concepts and ideas for additional products, tools and services that can be delivered in the digital space
Minimum Qualifications
- Server-side programming languages—like PHP, Laravel, Python, Perl, Ruby, Scala, Express.js, C#, and JavaScript
- Operating systems: Linux- and Unix-like operating systems, MacOS X, Windows Server
- Web Server technologies—e.g. J2EE, Apache, Nginx (popular for static content, like images, HTML or CSS files), and IIS
- Cloud computing integration
- Content management system (CMS) development, deployment, and maintenance
- API integration
- Security settings and hack prevent
- Backup and restore technologies for website’s files and DB (MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB)
- Solid OOP and software design knowledge: how to create software that’s extensible, reusable and meets desired architectural objectives
