Job Description

What is the job about?

An Accounting Clerk or Accounting Assistant supports accounting operations by filing documents, reconciling statements, and running software programs.

General Purpose

Performs a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions in an organization.

So, what will you actually be doing?

Your routine tasks are likely to include:

  • Maintain accounting records by making copies and filing documents.
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
  • Maintain accounting databases by entering data into the computer and processing backups.
  • Verify financial reports by running performance analysis software program.
  • Determine value of depreciable assets by running depreciation software program.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

General accounts receivable functions

  • Prepare and submit customer invoices.
  • Code, post, and receive payments.
  • Prepare and coordinate deposit activities.
  • Perform all necessary account, bank, and other reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer accounts for non payment and delayed payment.

General accounts payable functions

  • Check, verify, and process invoices.
  • Prepare payments for signature.
  • Sort, code, and enter accounts payable data.
  • Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
  • Maintain vendor files.

General Payroll functions

  • Collect, confirm, and process time sheets and overtime.
  • Verify taxes and other deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll checks.
  • Track employee vacation and sick time.

General support functions

  • Update, verify, and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records.
  • Assist in month end reporting procedures.
  • Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies.
  • Track and audit petty cash.
  • Assist with employee expense reports.
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
  • Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors.

When and where will you work?

Your basic working hours will be between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, although you may have to work longer, or during the weekends, or sometimes, even holidays, if you have deadlines to meet, or if you are part of the live or taped production or any other project the company is producing.

You will be office-based but sometimes, you might also need to travel for trainings, projects, and other deployments out-of-town, or out-of-the country, when needed.

How much will your salary be?

Important! You must know that the company is strict with the salary range that it offers for this position. So before you hit apply button, please make sure that you are ok (or amenable) on what is only offered.

Your basic salary will depend on your current capabilities and credentials during the time of application. But the salary range would be from Php 10,000.00/month for fresh graduates without ample experience and would require further training, to Php 12,500.00/month for graduates of related course with past experiences in the same or related field and is excellent in it. ​

If you live far away from Cainta, Rizal, but still wish to proceed with your application, we would already assume that distance is not an issue or you are willing to relocate near us.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Accounting course or its equivalent.
  • 1-3 years experience in clerical accounting.
  • Associate degree in business or accounting is an advantage.
  • MS Office and knowledge of accounting software.
  • Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
