Job Description
Official Title: Senior Tax Specialist
Salary Grade: SG18
Job Description:
- Reviews and prepares action proposed revision of the internal revenue/, custom laws, tariff rules and regulations, proposed circulars, memoranda and orders pertaining to tax revenue or revenue to the Department for approval;
- Studies and makes rulings or decisions on administrative appeals by taxpayers vs. tax assessment made by the Bureau of Internal Revenue/ Bureau of Customs to the Department either on appeal or on consultation; other related internal revenue/ custom matters brought by the BIR to the Department for consultations or for instructions;
- Studies and makes recommendations to improve the administrative operational methods and procedures of the BIR/BOC as regards the collection of revenue/custom/ tariff matters;
- Prepares action on all other correspondence involving internal revenue/customs/tariff matters
- Studies and makes rulings or opinions on issues or queries brought about by other agencies or private individuals regarding tax exemption;
- Processes and prepares action on tax exemptions, tax credits/ refund including the evaluation and verification of the supporting documents to determine their authenticity, regularly and sufficiency;
- Prepares weekly progressive report and accomplishment required by the Director or Undersecretary
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree relevant to the job
- Must have 2 years of relevant experience
- Must have 8 hours of relevant training
