Attorney V (Legal Service, Legal Division)  

The position is responsible for the direction of the Legal Division by providing legal opinion and advice to the Department of Education’s management and employees. He/she will take the lead in the interpretation of laws and rules affecting the operations of the Division. He/she will lead and manage the work of the team that will operationalize and monitor the implementation of legal framework and systems.

• Manage and supervise the Legal Division, provide impartial disposition of appealed cases and efficient provision on In-House General Counseling.
• Provide legal advice to management and recommendation in the disposition and resolutions of administrative cases, preparation of contracts and entry into partnerships, and endorsements of the agencies with legal implications.
• Lead and manage the work of the team that will operationalize and monitor the implementation of legal frame work and systems in the legal service.

Education

• Master’s degree or Certificate in Leadership and Management from the CSC

Experience

• 4 years in position/s involving management and supervision

Training

• 40 hours of supervisory/management learning and development intervention undertaken within the last 5 years
