Pablo Picasso, one of the world’s most renowned painters, once valued his painting on a napkin for $100,000. When asked why he charged such a high price on a painting that took 30 seconds to draw, Picasso simply replied, “It took me 40 years, not 30 seconds.”

Dekoruma realizes that, just like Picasso, interior designers need to be paid fairly through all those years of rigorous learning and pulling all-nighters. We know very well that ideas and inspirations do not just come in 30 seconds. Furthermore, we are aware that dealing with clients’ needs is not always an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy thing to do. Therefore, we aim to create a community where interior designers can do what they love and get compensated decently.

What you will do:
Like every other great designer, you will come up with appealing designs that suit what the clients want. You will also determine the materials and furnishings as well as producing the technical drawing needed to begin the project.

Responsibilities:

• You will carry out design-based projects from producing preliminary design sketches to full design
• You will also deal with non design-based aspects such as familiarizing yourself to our system, website as well as database
• You will specify the materials and furnishings required based on the design and client’s budget
• You will partake in creative discussions catering to partial client management

• Exceptional talent in interior design
• Bachelor’s degree majoring in interior design or relevant field of study
• 1-2 years of experience in design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, SketchUp and Microsoft Office
• Rendering skills: V-Ray for SketchUp will be an advantage
• Good communication and convincing presentation skills
• Ability to work under pressure with given deadlines
• Eagerness to learn new things, can-do attitude and attention to details
• A passion for home & living, interior design, technology and startups
• Achievement such as winning competitions and experience in handling residential, commercial, hotel and office projects will be a bonus
