Job Description
- Supports the Biomedical Engineer in ensuring that medical equipment is properly maintained for patient use.
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance, calibration and proper handling of the biomedical equipment.
- Repair and Maintenance—Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment particularly those out of warranty.
- Promptly responds to service requests from the end users.
- Provides repair plan; ensuring that all actions are documented
- Diagnoses equipment faults.
- Reassembles and tests unit after corrective maintenance.
- Accurate preparation and updating of corrective maintenance log and all related documentation.
- Implements preliminary preventive maintenance protocols.
- Ensures that the environmental parameters are adequate for the efficiency of the equipment.
- Performs basic electrical safety and functional testing.
- Provides regular calibration of medical equipment.
- Inspects parts of medical equipment and reports to Biomedical Engineer for possible wear and tear equipment breakdown
- Endorses proper handling and care of biomedical equipment to end user.
- Daily monitoring of equipment status.
- Awareness of workplace occupational hazards and infection control protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a technical / certificate course on BIOMED from a TESDA accredited institution;
- Preferably with TESDA NC II Passer;
- Knowledge and understanding of biomedical equipment function and repair;
- Experience of 1-2 years as Biomedical Equipment technician/ Medical Equipment Mechanic/ any related field;
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
