Job Description
- Ensures execution of AFR procurement strategy in country
- Manage and drives performance of AFR Capacity Mgmt teams
- Ensures adherence to global decisions (e.g. process, carrier strategy)
- Ensures mgmt of capacity & allocation for AFR
- Sets up local internal rates in system
- Coordinates forecast of supply and demand in country
- Ensures procurement and negotiates key contracts (schedules, rates)
- Is responsible for optimizing network procurement and consolidation opportunities
- Contributes to implementation of BD opportunities in country
- Escalates local carrier issues
- Understands the CO2 efficiency of AFR transport emissions
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years relevant work experience in the freight forwarding industry in a Managerial/Head of Department capacity with commercial experience/capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of Airfreight forwarding business and carrier/supplier landscape with strong project management skills and ability to cope with multiple bids in parallel
- Proven track record in people management role (leadership, motivation and people skills)
- Easily capable of making well informed decisions with strong problem solving mentality
- High degree of commitment to excellence and analytical thinking
- Demonstrates strong written, verbal and organizational skills
- Excellent command of the English language
