Job Description

Responsible for leading and managing the project sales team and all its activities, including the setting of plans and objectives in accordance with the organization’s marketing and sales strategy and allocated budget, to develop and grow sales and market share for the company’s plasterboard, plaster, metal frame, accessories and other related products including its drywall and ceiling systems/solutions in the following key construction market sectors - Hotel, Residential, Commercial, Institutional, Education and Healthcare – by influencing key decision makers such as general contractors, sub-contractors, and installers to approve and use products and systems.

  • Identifies potential customers and building projects and generates sales leads for the organization; Creates and trains prospecting and lead qualification process in collaboration with Country Development Manager; work with marketing to ensure consistent lead generation
  • Hire high-performing salespeople according to HR staffing guidelines.
  • Train new salespeople to ensure success.
  • Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members and deliver reviews.
  • Work with Country Development Manager to generate ideas for sales motivational initiatives.
  • Lead and schedule weekly and/or monthly team meetings with sales team and leadership.
  • Track sales team metrics and report data to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Coach and develop the sales team
  • Implement performance plans according to company procedure.
  • Embody company culture and maintain high sales employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with IT on sales technology initiatives.
  • Meet pre-determined sales volume and revenue goals through the activities of direct reports.
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications and ensure full compliance by the project sales team with the up-to-date reporting requirements of management
    • Detailed and accurate recording of employee’s activities including weekly call plans, visit reports, and details of agreements made with customers.
    • Proper tracking and monitoring of relevant projects and packages in the key targeted construction market sectors
    • Timely preparation of monthly performance reports and other ad-hoc reports that may be required
  • Train and ensure adherence to sales process.
  • Builds brand equity and cultivates strong business relationships with general contractors, sub-contractors and installers by
    • Ensuring a comprehensive communication of the features, benefits, value propositions and relevant technical know-how regarding the use and application of products and systems with a view to achieving successful penetration against substitute building products and systems (such as fiber-cement, plywood, brick & block and sand & cement) .
    • Providing technical training on products and systems.
    • Providing on-site support and audit on the proper installation of products and systems.
    • Providing quality after sales service and advice
  • Coordinates with the specifications team to ensure that specified projects are properly turned over to the projects team for tracking and sales conversion.
  • Collaborates with Distributors to ensure project specifications and approvals are converted to of products and systems. Provides training and technical support to Distributors’ sales personnel on products and systems.
  • Monitors, analyses and provides management with all relevant market and competitive information.
  • Advises management of any opportunities for new product development and/or opportunities for the provision of new systems and services toCustomers.
  • Ensures the personal safety of the project sales team in the conduct of their duties, in particular during project site visits and when driving.
  • Any other ad hoc activities that may be required by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any technical field; civil engineering or architecture preferred
  • Good business acumen, vision, creativity and common sense
