Job Description
- Support various implementations and versions of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services;
- Design, troubleshoot, and manage a backup strategy for Continuity of Operations;
- Create, read, troubleshoot, and performance tune T-SQL code;
- Work in a team environment;
- Communicate effectively;
- Install and support Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and 2016;
- Support stand-alone environments;
- Utilize SQL Server Profiler;
- Maintain security for Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services;
- Design, create, and deploy Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services packages;
- Perform Backups and Restorations as needed;
- Assist developers with troubleshooting security, T-SQL, and design;
- Work effectively on project teams and be accountable to manager and project manager;
- Develop and maintain related documentation;
- Troubleshoot and manage server and software security;
- Maintain patch levels according to defined standards;
- Experience developing SSRS reports, developing/enhancing SSAS cubes and troubleshooting existing;
- Perform Root Cause analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field AND a minimum of five years of practical, relevant experience working as a System Administrator;
- Hands-on experience with and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, Backups, Restores, and SSRS;
- Practical experience and working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, PowerShell, SharePoint 2010, Web Server Administration, Directory Services and VB Scripting;
- Proven ability to read VB.NET, C#.NET, and HTML code;
- Demonstrated, general understanding of VMWare, TSM, networking, and SAN technologies;
- Strong experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server;
- Demonstrated, general understanding of VMWare, TSM, networking, and SAN technologies;
- Excellent communication and documentation skills;
- Proven ability to work directly and effectively with customers with minimal supervision;
- Ability to follow-up and triage conflicting priorities;
- Must be able to learn and keep current on technologies;
- Proven ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, analyze and plan actions necessary to resolve identified problems;
- Fill-in developing/enhancing SSRS reports and SSAS cubes as needed;
- Ability to work under the direction of a US-based Senior DBA/Architect.
