Job Description
- Ensure the following:
- High availability and performance of data and voice communications networks.
- Proper operation of security systems & solutions installed.
- All infrastructure changes are reviewed and approved by the CAB as well as implemented according to documented IT procedures.
- Serve as Project Lead on a number of network related projects and new site installations.
- Evaluate and propose new technological or process driven systems to increase efficiency or productivity.
- Work in cooperation with contractors to specify, install, and support voice and data networks and equipment.
- Support internal network device configurations including the following:
- Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls
- VPNs
- HP switches and Cisco switches and routers
- Meraki Wireless Access Points
- Monitor internal network using variety of tools including Solarwinds and Alertra.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network issues using various tools, commands, and captures.
- Work in close cooperation with other team members to resolve problems promptly when they arise.
- Be available or on-call on a rotation basis to respond to network outages or performance problems.
- Maintain a consistent IT Infrastructure change lifecycle by verifying that all documentation requirements are met before, during, and after the change.
- Work closely with Business Process Leaders to document and communicate global infrastructure changes.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Related Discipline, or any related field.
- Mid-level experience.
- Must have overall ability to lead in the future and set up a team in the near term and should be hands-on.
- Proven experience and success with the following:
- Desktop Support experience at a tier 2 level, including end point Operating systems and applications;.
- LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
- Desktop application and operation systems knowledge.
- Data Security knowledge and Windows Server knowledge is a plus.
- HP, Juniper, Palo Alto (or other NextGen Firewall), OSPF, STP, QoS, Meraki, Riverbed, TCP/IP, Ethernet, PC OS, and PC Apps.
- Websense, PGP, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Splunk, DLP, VoIP, RADIUS, Certificates, and Powershell.
- OSPF, BGP, and RIP routing.
- Security solutions such as Splunk, Varonis, Rapid 7, Metaspoilt, WebSense, etc.
- MPLS, IPSec and VPN Tunnels and Technologies.
- Microsoft Windows Server Administration, VMWare, Microsoft RADIUS and Certificates.
- Powershell scripting.
- Understanding of IT Operational principles including basic awareness of ITIL concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including sensitivity to multiple language barriers,.
- Other language skills that will be an advantage:
- French
- Portuguese
- Mandarin
- Other language skills that will be an advantage:
- Excellent computer and internet skills (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Experience with Service-Now.com or a similar ticketing system is a plus.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to details.
- Excellent listening skills, including the ability to coach.
