Job Description
- Gives direct nursing care to the patients.
- Identifies nursing needs of the patients, plans and implements interventions based on the standard norms of the nursing service profession
- Performs all nursing procedures with competence and efficiency
- Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care
- Admits and discharges patients as ordered
- Performs routine nursing care such as bathing, hair shampoo, oral hygiene, shaving and bed making.
- Does skin preparation to patient for surgery as indicated
- Assist patients for surgery in wheelchari when going home
- Endorses patients for surgery in the opearting room to the OR nurses.
- Accompanies critically (close monitoring) patient to any diagnostic procedures in the radiology department, 2D echo,/stress test department adn CT scan
- Assists patients in maintaining proper position of bosy utilizing body mechanics
- Takes and records vital signs and reports any noted abnormalities accordingly
- Ensures proper functioning of the equipment in the unit
- Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and records in the chart accordingly
- Reports pertinent observations to the head nurse, resident on duty and/or attending physicians
- Attends to patients' emotional and spiritual needs as necessary
- Acts as liaison between patient and hospital personnel
- Assists physicans with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Carries out doctors' orders accurately and completely
- Assists physicians doing rounds
- Administers and charts medication and patient's reaction to medication
- Sees to it that all equipmetn receives proper care and maintenance.
- Immediately reports to the head nurse any mulfunction and broken equipments and facilities
- Discharges patients and ensure proper home instructions were given
- Does nursing documentation of all relevant information in all important events and occurences.
- Performs post-mortem care
- Teaches and directs non-professional nursing personnel if head nurse on behalf of head nurse
- Acts as a senior nurse/ acting nurse supervisor when so delegated
- Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies
- Gives health teaching
- Interprets hospital policies and procedures
- Maintains good working relationship with co-staff and all other hospital personnel
- Charts medication and treatment rendered accurately
- Attends meetings and conferences and seminars whenever necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- With ACLS, BLS, First Aid and IVT Trainings
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
