ChatGenie started as a Chatbot (Conversational Commerce) Platform Product in 2018, pivoted to offering customized Mini Apps (Transactional Commerce) in 2019, and eventually launched a self-service Mini App Platform for eCommerce in February 2020. Recently, ChatGenie was included in the Forbes Asia 100 To Watch List. ChatGenie is one of the only 4 companies in the Philippines that got included in the list.

Since the pandemic started, we onboarded over 2,000 merchants, facilitated over P150,000.000 worth of transactions within the platform, and generated over P7,000,000 of gross revenue.

Currently, our merchants can launch their Sales channels on Messenger, Viber, GCash soon on Instagram, PayMaya, Tiktok, and other platforms. We are excited about this journey and we believe that selling on non-conventional eCommerce platforms will be more active in the next few years.

As a Merchant Activation Intern, you will assist Merchant Activation Specialist in playing a key role in onboarding Merchants to the ChatGenie platform and launching online stores. Merchant Activation Specialist will be the point person for Merchants who are in need of high-touch assistance in setting up their ChatGenie online stores. This role requires prior experience and knowledge on how eCommerce works including online payments and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Contact newly registered merchants and provide them step-by-step ChatGenie onboarding process.
• Ask merchants what online store features they need to activate
• Assist Merchants in uploading product categories and SKUs
• Troubleshoot technical issues as needed
• Schedule online appointments for merchant assistance and follow up
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of applicable eCommerce related technology, processes, and tools that the organization offers
• Expand knowledge through internal resources, supervisors, fellow employees, company training, and trade publications
• Maintain a high degree of ethical behavior in all aspects of the daily business including relationships with merchants, partners, and co-workers
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with all employees and departments by keeping a positive attitude and a collaborative focus in all interactions
• Manage and organize a high level of productivity through the effective use of all available resources including CRM and internal admin tools.
• Adhere to company policies as defined
• Accept and complete assignments with open, cooperative, positive, and team-oriented attitudes
• Support in creating onboarding guides and tutorials that will reinforce knowledge handed over to ChatGenie Merchants.

• Bachelor’s/College degree in any field (Preferably Graduating Students)
• Accommodating and customer-centric attitude
• Willing to learn and wear multiple hats
• Team player, proactive, and adaptable
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Filipino

What to Expect on the Job

• Work from home setup until end of the year
• Interns are expected to learn independently via given modules with assistance from immediate reports
• Write down daily progress reports (Journal)

Due to the current work from home setup, interns are expected to have the following:

• Your own working terminal (laptop/desktop)
• A stable internet connection

General Requirements

• Strong willingness to learn, and fast learner. Shows self-initiative on unassigned tasks.
• Has a growth mindset and willing to wear multiple hats (Along with this job, you’ll be mentored to become a full-time Merchant Activation Specialist)
• Willing to be hired as Entry-level Merchant Activation Specialis (Optional)
