Tactical Planning Specialist  

JOB SUMMARY

The position is expected to provide a fully feasible operations and maintenance plan in the time period from Day of Operations+2 to 14. The post is also expected to monitor the aircraft rotation and maintain schedule integrity by efficiently manipulating the flight schedule.
It is critical for this post to coordinate with the Flight Dispatchers, Crew Planners and Maintenance Controllers / Maintenance Control Planners and Network Management group to ensure that all Network Tactical Planning decisions comply with the regulatory, company, technical and operational policies. Recovery plans and significant decisions made should be disseminated to all stakeholders.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor the aircraft rotation.
• Efficiently manipulate the aircraft rotation to maintain schedule integrity.
• Ensure the AIMS system is updated with the latest known operations and maintenance plan and revised timings.
• Maintain situational awareness with the Flight Dispatchers, Crew Planners, Load Controllers and Maintenance Controllers/Maintenance Control Planners regarding any operational, crewing, or technical issues that may impact the schedule.
• Submit a fully feasible operating plan that ensure all flights have slots, have the right aircraft type to be utilized, a complete fully rested crew, and all applicable clearances before handover to Network Control.
• Coordinate with Flight Dispatch, Crew Planners, Centralized Load Controllers and Maintenance Controllers/Maintenance Control Planners to ensure any recovery plan or Network Tactical Planning decisions comply with regulatory, company, technical, and operational policies.
• Maintain coordination with the Manager Tactical Planning, Network Management Managers, Flight Dispatchers, Crew Planners, Centralized Load Controllers and Maintenance Controllers/Maintenance Control Planners so that any events occurring throughout the network are shared between all Network Control Center personnel.
• Brief the Manager Tactical Planning of any issues that may impact the schedule.
• Ensure all flights and maintenance events are allocated with a tail number and an efficient aircraft rotation is maintained within the Network Tactical Planning period.
• Disseminate Network Tactical recovery plans and decisions to all stakeholders.
• Identify any deficiencies in the Network Tactical procedures and functional system, and alert the Manager Tactical Planning.
• When applicable and on shift, support the Flight Dispatchers and Crew Planners in improving their operational skills and knowledge.
• Comply with all applicable company and regulatory requirements as laid down in the Operations Manual Part A, Flight Dispatch Manual, and other published manuals and procedures.

• At least a Bachelor's/College degree in Aviation, Aeronautics, Business Studies, Business Administration, Businesss Management, or its equivalent.
  • Flight Dispatcher course.
• Airline or operational experience of at least 3 years such as:
  • Flight Dispatcher
  • Assistant Flight Dispatch
• Preferably 1-4 years of experience specializing in Aviation/Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent.
• Holds a Flight Dispatch license (desirable).
• Other operational, commercial, or airport training is also desirable.
• Good working knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning procedures constraints and systems.
