Job Description
- Utilize a working technical knowledge of database administration to administer and control computerized databases and database servers.
- Perform hands-on database administration including:
- Configuration
- Upgrade.
- Maintenance
- Backup
- Recovery
- Tuning
- Monitoring of the company’s databases
- Create and maintain standard database administration scripts.
- Maintain documentation to facilitate ongoing support maintenance.
- Test and implement schematic changes to be put into production.
- Implement or assist Development Team with:
- Database design
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Stored procedures, tables, views, triggers, jobs, and database related software
- Ensure SME resolve data conflicts and appropriate data usage.
- Consult with more Senior Database Staff, IT Development Staff and Management on database concepts and functional capabilities.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions on databases.
- Isolate, diagnose, and resolve database problems or escalate the issue to Information Technology Team or to the vendor for resolution.
- Assist in the establishment and monitoring of policies and procedures pertaining to database management, security, maintenance, and utilization.
- Support and maintain databases and database servers for the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- College degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, or any Information Technology related field.
- With 5 or more years of SQL database administration and analysis experience.
- Preferably with Managerial experience.
- IRIL v3 Foundation certification is an advantage.
