Infection Control Nurse  

Assist in the monitoring & implementation of all Infection Control Programs / Standards & Policies hospital wide. Play a major role of day to day surveillance hospital wide.

Major Functions

• Participate in the monitoring and implementation of Infection Control Policies.
• Monitor and advise on Isolation Technique in specific clinical situations.
• Collect relevant information on behalf of ICC.
• Work the Infection Control Team to identify, investigate and control outbreaks of Infection.
• Identify and report potential infection hazards.
• Collaborate with the ICC and Physicians about routine monitoring of high risk units; ER, ICU, CCU, NCCU, Cancer, and Hemodialysis units.
• Assist in the monitoring compliance with IC Policies and activities directly associated with audit.
• Help/advise in the evaluation of equipment regarding infection hazards.
• Participate in the teaching program for Nurses and other Health Care Workers on Infection Control.
• Assist in evaluating the implementation of IC techniques.
• Attend conventions, seminars, conferences, and meetings to update one self.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Lecturer on different programs related to Infection Control.
• Assist in the conduction of water analysis & environmental cultures as needed.
• Response to call any hour of the day if there is a need in relation to Infection Control.
• Assist in the product evaluation appropriate for Infection Control use.
• Intravenous Insertion (in the absence of the consultant)
• Others- Perform other functions as may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time.

• Must be a graduate of BS Nursing
• License to Practice Nursing in the Philippines
• With at least nine (9) units of MA in Nursing Administration
• Knowledgeable in Hospital Administration Policies and Procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Staff Nurse .
• Excellent problem-solving skills;
• Computer literate, with good communication and interpersonal skills, with supervisory and teaching abilities.
