Job Description
Position : Software Engineer I
Reporting to : Solutions Design, Development & Deployment Manager
Primary Functions:
The Software Engineer I is responsible for producing quality deliverables for a defined project. Technical responsibilities include development, documentation, unit testing, regression testing and/or analysis, time management, source code review and adherence to existing standards and best practices.
Regular Tasks:
- Essential Functions:
- Unit and regression testing
- Requirements elaboration and analysis
- Adhere to a structured development environment
- Work estimation and personal time/schedule management
- Debug and maintenance of existing code
- Participation in team meetings and collaborative efforts
- Seek and utilize support and coaching from others
- Source Code Control utilization
Secondary Functions:
- Staying abreast of the latest developments in application development and technologies
- Develop technical solutions for a defined project
- Consistent time tracking and entry
- Status reporting and escalation of issues/concerns
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications for the Position:
- Familiar with Object Oriented programming languages (such as: C#, VB.Net)
- Familiar with Internet application programming (such as D/HTML. Javascript, ASP.NET)
- Working knowledge of RDBMS: MS SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Understanding of methodologies: UML, OOAD, Unified Process, XP, Patterns
- Experience with Windows 2003, XP, Vista
