Job Description

About the Position

Brankas is looking for a strong technical writer with previous experience documenting complex environments and interactions for technical and non-technical readers. Candidates should have a strong desire to work in a fast moving, but rigorous environment with a focus on authoring detailed, high quality and clear technical guides. The main objectives of this role:

Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature

In this position, you will work directly, hands-on with the CTO and will have the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on the voice and character of a fast growing tech company and platform.

Minimum Qualifications

BS in a related technical field, such as Computer Science
Minimum 2 years work experience
Candidates must have excellent English communication skills and be independently driven to success
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
Strong knowledge / conceptual understanding of algorithms, software engineering, distributed systems, test driven development, continuous integration, databases, and configuration management
Strong commitment / experience to authoring clear and detailed documentation
Familiar with cloud technologies and software engineering practices is a big plus
Previous experience working in banking, ecommerce, or finance is a plus
Candidates must be comfortable working as part of a remote team

About Brankas

Brankas helps SE Asia use direct bank transfers for online payments by removing the middleman and providing a frictionless “last mile” for payments! Before Brankas, online sellers would need to pay a bank or payment gateway for expensive “virtual account” systems, or hire a team of analysts to manually match each customer payment and disburse to vendors. Brankas automates the matching and disbursement processes and reduces transaction costs by 80%, letting our merchant partners focusing on growing their business. Brankas’ open payments management platform is built using Go on the backend, and TypeScript and VueJS on the frontend. Brankas’ APIs are published as gRPC services and are made available via REST, SOAP, and can be easily exposed via other protocols when needed. Our enterprise platform is comprised of a service-oriented architecture comprising a mix of first- and third- party services. We use transactional, non-relational databases as our primary datastore, and couple that with a conventional relational database (PostgreSQL). All systems and services are deployed as Kubernetes applications on Google’s Cloud and Container Platforms (GCP + GKE). All internal and external services use TLS encryption at the application layer, and all database volumes are stored on encrypted disks using secure keys injected only at launch.
