Job Description
- Oversee the implementation of new business and ensure execution
- Understand KPI’s and drive them to ensure the targets are met
- Deep dive on file finances for loss making customers, profitability review
- Review Import payables and file auditing for operational excellence
- Ensures customer satisfaction and customer inquiries are reviewed
- Monitor and manage Customer Complaints & Operational Irregularities as needed
- Engage with sales to grow business by joining sales meetings and customer calls as required by Ocean Freight Manager (gather data for sales calls as needed to support)
- Drives customer centricity within team
- Collaborate with internal customers (Customs Brokerage, Handling) for seamless customer service and improve process flows
- Monitors activities performed by the agents to effectively manage end-to-end ocean freight process
- Escalates carrier performance issues when required with direct reports
- Drives performance and staff development (coaching, motivating and training on processes & best practices)
- Coach & train team on Financial file responsibilities and accountability (includes projects and agent training)
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years’ experience with Ocean Imports within Freight Forwarding, 1+ years of leadership experience preferred.
- Experience using E-TRADE software a plus
- Excellent planning skills & financial understanding of file profitability and loss
- Strong communications capabilities
- Capable of making well informed decisions in a fast paced environment
- Highly analytical with strong process mind set
- Excellent coaching skills and understanding of Ocean Freight Import processes
