Data Analyst | IT Asset Management  

The IT Asset Management Data Analyst is responsible for data integrity, analysis and reporting of Hardware and Software IT asset attributes stored in the company’s corporate asset database. The Data Analyst must have a comprehensive understanding of IT asset lifecycle processes used across all divisions of the organization to perform day to day data analyst activities.

The data analyst role can vary but it can commonly involve the following:

• Documenting the types and structure of the business data (logical modeling)
• Analyzing and mining business data to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points
• Mapping and tracing data from system to system in order to solve a given business or system problem
• Design and create data reports and reporting tools to help business executives in their decision-making
• Perform statistical analysis of business data
• Special projects related to cleanup activities associated with the data analyzed.
• Processing of daily transactions, reports, and requests.

Technical Requirements
The person must learn and understand the relationships among the different systems the company uses in support of the IT Asset Management function and pull the disparate details together into a meaningful summary that provides a means to effectively manage the environment. This person should have the following qualifications:

Intermediate level skills with MS Access and relational databases – proficiency performing import & export of large datasets, develop & run complex queries and perform data analysis

• Advance MS Excel skills – proficiency performing data lookups (vlookup), data comparison, data transformation and manipulation (ex. text to column, countif)
• Proficiency with usage of IBM Lotus Notes databases and views  Knowledge of Crystal Reports a Plus  Good business analysis skills

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline; equivalent work experience acceptable.
• Generally, 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT Asset Management predominately in the area of Hardware or Software Asset Management.
• General knowledge of purchasing procedures
• Follows detailed procedures and ensures accuracy in documentation and data
• Willing to work during US business hours (evening shift)
