Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager  

Job Functions

• Ensures that the site’s operations are conducted in a safe, accident-free and healthy workplace. This includes ensuring wide employee participation in plant safety programs and committees.
• Ensures that the site is in compliance in all environmental regulations and permits.
• Drives the Central Safety Committee and coordinates all safety activities onsite to ensure that overall safety efforts lead to continuous improvement in plant safety performance and that the annual safety plan is adequate to meet company and governmental requirements.
• Forms part of the top management team and plays a key role in the setting of company policies and guidelines for manufacturing operations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety (35%)

1. Leadership
2. Pollution Control

• Ensures that plant operations are safe and environmentally sound. Ensures timely reporting, investigation and correction of all Safety incidents, and the wide employee participation to the BBS and other plant EHS programs.
• Leads the Central Safety Committee which is tasked to develop and implement plant wide Safety programs.

Environmental (35%)

1. Permit processing
2. Discharge parameters monitoring/reporting
3. Participation

• Ensures that plant operations are safe and environmentally sound.
• Ensures plant compliance with Company and Philippine environmental policies and laws
• Ensures that plant discharges are in compliance to DENR standards.
• Committee member on Environmental Management and Waste Minimization

GMP/Food Safety (15%)

• Must advocate GMP (incl ISO9001 and ISO22000) in all aspects of duties and responsibilities

Budget (15%)

• Monitors fixed cost spending consistent with approved budgets.

Knowledge and Skills

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional License in either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. A Masters degree in a related or business field will be an advantage

Familiar with:

• Must have completed the Basic PCO Training Course by an EMB-recognized training organization within the last three (3) years
• SAP Business Systems, Microsoft Systems
• 6 Sigma and other productivity and statistic tools.
• ISO Management Systems, HACCP and GMP
• Proficient in both oral and written English

Experience

• At least 5-years of work exposure in plant/manufacturing operations
• Accredited DOLE Safety Practitioner
