Job Description
- Responsible for SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS instances
- Maintenance of SQL Server high availability technology such as Failover Cluster instances, Database mirroring, Availability Groups
- Performance tuning through the different tools available in SQL Server (DMVs, DMFs, Catalog views, DTA, SQL Profiler, Extended Events, etc.)
- Administers security disaster recovery of database, including back up, restore, recovery, auditing, health checks and disaster recovery design and planning
- Performs SQL Server installations, configurations, patch updates, monitoring and version upgrades
- Works incidents tickets including problem analysis, root cause and solution implementation
- Work with other member of the IT Operations team efficiently
- Maintains effective communication and respect to co-workers
- Perform standard database operation, T-SQL programming based on directives from the Sr. Database Administration
- SSIS development and tuning
- Researches and test new database technologies
- Shares knowledge with the database team
- Works towards automation and gaining efficiencies
- Handles deployment of database scripts efficiently through different environment and provide feedback to ensure production deployments are safe as possible
- Develops reports using SSRS
- Database consolidation following directives from Senior Database administrator
- Documents database environments
- Develop solutions for complex reporting needs
- Demonstrate middle level operational database and troubleshooting skills
- Maintains database standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 or more years of experience administering SQL Server 2008/2008R2/20012
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate level knowledge in:
- Microsoft SQL Server Stack: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- T-SQL, optimizer and execution plans
- Developing and tuning SSIS packages and ETL processes
- Migrating and upgrading SQL Server databases
- On high availability solution using SQL Server
- Ability to:
- Work on call in a 24/7 environment
- Read and analyze business processes, procedures, training material
- Quick learn and effectively implement new database technologies
- Manage work and project time efficiently
- Computer proficiency in common MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio)
- Written in verbal communication skills to address all levels with the organization
