VMWARE CLOUD ENGINEER  

The role is responsible for supporting delivery business units needs and implement projects of infrastructure systems delivered in the cloud, specifically involved in VMware technologies. This involves day-to-day responsibilities such as application and service troubleshooting, system configuration, host provisioning, performance testing and tuning, and hardware evaluation.

The roles and responsibilities of VMware NSX professional will involve within cloud security and virtualization. The role of a VMware engineer is more focused on network technologies and security which covers the physical networking and firewalling facilities. The candidate will be expected to deliver network and security infrastructure for an organization utilizing variety of VMware solution stack. You will play a critical role in building and sustaining client relations while driving the implementation of VMware solutions across different engagements.

Additionally, you will also be operating & maintaining cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) environment. Individual will be exposed to many aspects of cloud-specific infrastructure and systems. One will have the opportunity to lead and drive transformational project initiatives in a leading technology domain.

Following are the standard responsibilities expected:

• Providing security and network support for physical networking and firewall services.
• Ensuring network reliability and availability through well-planned and implemented solutions
• Delivering network and security infrastructures
• Developing, maintaining, and supporting networks in NSX/NSX-T
• Implementing networking and VXLAN technologies
• Monitoring the automation of network deployment and configuration, along with the integration of infrastructure (computer/storage) automation
• Configuring and monitoring network security layers
• Monitoring integration with other software-defined networking technologies
• Improving network manageability and scalability
• Supporting the operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure
• Maintaining VMware vROps and reporting for confirmation, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Improving customized outlines using NSX, vRA, and vRO to automate and simplify tasks
• Duplicating virtual machines and server appliances.
• Backing up virtual machines and supporting virtual machine infrastructure.

Other requirements:

• Designing, describing, and managing the solution in relation to specific customer business problems
• Engage with Call Management team for customer's inquiries or request for escalation; Work directly with customers in local language, answering calls, determining customer entitlement, document requests for service, dispatch technicians and escalate when necessary
• Execute Professional Services for projects implementation
• Receive and document service request from prospects & existing customers
• Ensure customer entitlement, update work orders
• Gather problem information and determine criticality
• Capture information and record data, generates regular incident reports, review incident history to determine recurring faults
• Participate in objective setting, performance management, reward and recognition programs, participate in projects to continuously improve processes, tools systems and organization
• Monitors incident status and escalates cases that are not resolved in a specific timeframe

TECHNICAL SKILLSET & EXPERIENCES

• It is preferred that you have a degree in computer science, Information Technology, or another related field and have earned one or more industry-standard certifications with at least 3 years’ experience in the industry. Certifications that will make your application stand out include:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • VCAP6-NV
  • VCDX-NV
  • VCP6-NV
  • VCAP6-DCV
