Business Systems Manager  

Summary:

• Managing the organization’s systems development activities, application implementation, application support, change management activities and directing the organizations software development team,
• Provide the business perspective of IT to the organization,
• Contribute on developing and documenting the department’s policies, procedures, and guidelines,
• Provide initiative to improve the department’s existing processes and protocols,
• Serve as the resource person and coordinator for the IT department

Responsibilities:

• Ensure development project activities are delivered on time and within agreed specifications or scope.
• Drive process ownership in change management activities
• Maintain and update the IT Department’s Project Portfolio
• Manage the overall performance of the development team
• Work with IT department head to identify and plan for the required manpower requirements and assigns contract programmers to each team
• Reports to the Head of IT and the IT Committee for software development change requests and project status updates
• Coordinates with the infrastructure manager on the optimizing the performance of the organization’s application systems
• Prepares regular MIS reports as required by the executive committee
• Performs other job related projects as assigned from time to time

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or any related course
• Post Graduate in Business Management preferred, but not required
• PMP or Prince 2 certification preferred, but not required
• MCSE certification preferred, but not required
• ITIL or Six Sigma certification preferred, but not required
• At least 4 years experience in IT Project Management (completed a minimum of 5 full software development lifecycles) in the banking and finance industry
• Can meet multiple projects and reporting deadlines
• At least 4 years experience in IT Service Management in the banking and finance industry
• At least 3 years experience in IT Operation Management in the banking and finance industry
• Ability to manage and provide guidance to a team of system analyst, programmers and project leaders across multiple programming platforms
• Can present or communicate technical items in a business environment
