- Candidate will be reporting to a Development Manager, and will join a team working on a large, complex set of web applications covering both WISP (Windows, IIS, SQL Server, PHP) and LAMP (Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP) technologies. He or she will be responsible for day to day maintenance of the software, investigating and fixing defects.
- They will work closely with the testing team to ensure that the software is stable and functional and writing unit tests to demonstrate this.
- They will work closely with the product management team to implement new features.
- They will ensure that coding standards are maintained across the system, including secure coding standards.
- In addition, the team lead will be responsible for providing technical leadership around code architecture and design, as well as taking responsibility for ensuring that the team delivers on their goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 8-years commercial experience in PHP application development, and must be very confident of their skill with PHP and SQL.
- Candidates must display an understanding of Agile development methodologies, including the responsibilities of the development team and their relationship with other business stakeholders.
- Candidates must be confident of their ability to deliver stable, testable, maintainable code and to justify all code architecture decisions made by them and their team.
- Candidates must have an excellent work ethic and time management skills as well as demonstrate that they can get up to speed with a new project quickly as the role involves working on a large, complex product through multiple simultaneous projects.
- Candidates must have a solid understanding of MVC frameworks as well as knowledge of agile development methodologies, refactoring techniques, secure coding and design patterns.
- Candidates must be confident in their ability to write automated tests to demonstrate the stability of their code.
- Candidates must understand web-application front end code, particularly JavaScript.
