Job Description
Role Summary
The Corporate Governance Analyst shall provide effective administrative support for business intelligence and corporate governance functions such as organizing the meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees, preparing board materials, assisting in creating new corporate and strategic policies, assisting in special projects and setting up of new business segments
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring new and developing asset management and corporate governance related trends and best practices
- Assist in creation, adoption and implementation of best-practice policies in corporate governance
- Prepare invitations, agenda and materials for meetings of the Board of Directors, board and management committees
- Monitor number of meetings held, attendance to meetings and preparation of minutes by Board or Committee secretary
- Assist in the preparation of requests for Board Approval
- Coordinate with legal counsel on corporate governance matters
- Provide support to business initiatives and special projects
- Interact with other business units to consolidate need and knowledge for management decision making process and policies
- Conduct regulatory and business research as required
- Provide support to the Strategic Business Management Team or other units on special projects, as needed
- Comply with regulatory requirements, company and group policies; maintain compliance awareness
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant educational qualifications, a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking, Commerce or equivalent
- Experience in asset management or related industry (highly preferred)
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Quick thinking, creative and innovative; marketing oriented
- Efficient and thorough, detail-oriented
- Persistent - has follow through
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
- High level of integrity
