Job Description
Role Summary:
Database Administrator, or DBA, is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of company databases. Their duties include monitoring and updating malware protection software to combat potential security breaches, creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner. Database administrator duties include in maintaining adherence to a data management policy and ensuring that company databases are functional and backed up in the event of memory loss.

- Backup and Maintenance plan
- Database Recovery
- SQL Server build
- Alert Notification and Monitoring
- Implement Security and Encryption
- Vendor Management and Utilization
- Risk Assessment and Security Controls
- People Management and Staff Utilization
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant educational qualifications, preferably in university degree in information technology management, information systems, computer science or similar courses
- At least 5 years relevant work experience, particularly in Data Administration.
- SQL 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014
- Oracle DB
- Query optimization and performance tuning
- SQL Server Profiler
- Database Engine Tuning Advisor
- SSRS 2008 and 2012
- Performance Monitor
- Database Performance Analyzer (Solarwinds)
- AppDynamics
- Database administration, account and permission provisioning, logshipping, backup and restore.
- Crystal Reports 8, 9, 9.2 and 10
- VSTS 2005, 2008 and 2012
- TFS 2005, 2008 and 2012
- Legacy Programming: VB6, Access, Excel Macro,
- Batch and ASP Classic
- Automation for Operations routine tasks
- Root cause analysis
- SQL development effort estimation and code reviews
- Windows 2003 Server Administration
- Unix Server Administration
- Test Planning, Approach, Scenario
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Self-motivated, able to work independently in a relatively unstructured environment
