Job Description

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Dean, the Program Director for ME will be responsible for the management, marketing, and administration of the Master in Entrepreneurship Program.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Marketing

  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to promote the Master in Entrepreneurship Program and any program variants that are developed, including the Master in Corporate Entrepreneurship and the Master in Entrepreneurship in Social Enterprise track
  • Conduct marketing intelligence on competitors and identify new business opportunities, specifically institutional partnerships for in-house ME
  • Liaise with the community to encourage institutional partnerships, widen market reach, and increase student enrollment
  • Oversee the development of appropriate program package and budget for institutional accounts
  • Lead the implementation of various ME marketing campaigns and caravans
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director in developing print ads and other marketing collaterals
  • Draft publicity materials about the Program and its courses for inclusion in the AGSB's prospectus and website
  • Set recruitment targets for student enrollment (as agreed upon with the AGSB Dean) and plan strategies to meet those targets
  • Collaborate with the AGSB Registrar’s Office and ME Admissions Committee to ensure an effective and efficient admissions process for the students
  • Ensure that incoming students comply with the required documentation prior to enrollment and communicate changes (if any) in student policies and regulations
  • Conduct focused group discussions with students and relay feedback to Department Chairs and the Dean to improve program and student services

II. Program Management

  • In collaboration with the ME Gurus, manage the process of curriculum review, including course content, methods of delivery, assessment, and documentation
  • Manage the process of the School's periodic teaching assessments, including a self-assessment program, making recommendations for improvement on the preparation and compilation of documentation, liaison with the support staff, and ensuring detailed arrangements for assessment visits are made
  • Work with the ME Gurus in recruiting/screening prospective Faculty to the Unit's course offerings and make appropriate recommendations
  • Manage and monitor the scheduling of ME’s program runs, the allocation of teaching staff to the modules per batch/intake, and the support (technical, clerical, and other services) required to enable the classes to run efficiently

III. Administrative

  • Attend and update the Dean’s Council on Program matters, especially where a decision/consensus is required prior to implementation
  • Ensure the smooth conduct of all ME programs
  • Work with the Director of Student Affairs and Formation on the schedule of student formation programs (e.g. orientation for new students, recollection, etc)
  • Monitor and make recommendations regarding the provision of support (academic or non-academic) for the program’s various initiatives
  • Present budget targets and expenditures, manage and monitor financial performance vis-a-vis projections
  • Prepare an annual performance roadmap for his/her staff and discuss such with each staff
  • Counsel staff on performance expectations and immediately correct deviations from target
  • Develop learning & development plans and interventions for staff
  • Determine the appropriate work schedule and monitor staff attendance
  • Discuss with the Dean the performance of team members in relation to succession planning

IV. Perform all other duties and functions assigned by the Dean.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices
  • Conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • Employee development and performance management skills
  • Knowledge of faculty governance issues and processes
