Job Description

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director for Campus Safety and Mobility, the Assistant Director shall perform the following:

  • Assists in reinforcing programs and goals consistent with campus policies and guidelines and other local and national laws and best practices
  • Conducts studies on campus mobility and traffic flow based on data analysis and surveys
  • Serves as the Secretariat of the Occupational Safety and Health(OSH) Committee
  • Serves as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) in the absence of the Director

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Campus Safety and Security

a. Assists the Director on all matters concernign safety and security in all Ateneo de Manila University campuses

  • Serves as the alternate Incident Commander in the Campus Emergency Management Plan
  • Assists in coordinating and collaborating with various units
    • Provides technical expertise in the implementation of systems and processes at the unit level
    • Develops and plans programs to train unit heads in Disaster Risk Reduction & Management (DRRM)
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates security activities that safeguard people in the campus and University property
  • Implements safety protocols that are abreast with that of new trends and advancements in the field of security

b. Assists the Director in establishing and insitutionalizing processes that will continually review and challenge the status quo to improve security systems and performance

  • Assesses campus safety and security risks
  • Develops and cascades action plans to mitigate risks and strengthen awareness
  • Reviews, updates, and drafts new policies related to campus safety and security
  • Initiates programs on car sticker registration system

c. Assists the Director in overseeing and managing outsourced security team

  • Identifies, investigates, and solves security breaches
  • Reguarly reviews and updates security management plan and service level agreement

d. Manages ADMU sticker registration and issuance system

e. Prepares minutes of the meeting of the OSH Commitee and keeps records related to safety and health standards

f. Assists the Director by conducting regular and random safety audit and risk assessment

2. Campus Mobility

a. Assists the Director on matters concerning campus mobility and traffic flow

  • Reviews the University's current policies, procedures, and systems on traffic management and identifies areas for improvement
  • Coordinates with the AIS for University directions on sustainability campus mobility
  • Assesses traffic situation within the campus and the Loyola Heights Community
  • Assists the Director in deciding on appeals on traffic violations
  • Supervises E-Jeep Shuttle Service's operations

3. External Relations

  • As may be required by the Director, represents the University in dialogues on safety and mobility
  • Establishes linkages with various government agencies related to security (e.g. PNP, AFP)
  • Ensures awareness of new trends and standards in campus safety and security
  • Establishes linkages to other universities and local industries having similar operations related to safety and security

4. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director or as may be required by the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduate of Security Management or any related course
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in the field of security management
  • Knowledge in safety and traffic management
  • Adept in Risk Assessment and Mitigation/Emergency and Crisis Management
  • Preferably has connections with government security forces (e.g. PNP, AFP)

  • Security and Safety
    • Implementing traditional and non-traditional, albeit, up-to-date safeguards and processes to ensure campus safety and security
  • Date & Information Analysis
    • Analyzing data and information as input for the formulation of strategic plans, monitoring progress towards goals, and calibrating programs
  • Change Management
    • Managing resistance to change by involving and engaging key stakeholders in the process of change
  • Networking and Relationship Management
    • Establishing, developing and maintaining productive relationship with partners and other stakeholders over time
  • Communications and Media
    • Knowledge in communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
