Job Description

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Vice President for Social Development (VPSD), the Social Development Programs Administrator assists in establishing, managing, and monitoring programs and partnerships that contribute to the social development efforts of the University.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Relationship Management and Partnerships

  • Proposes and manages programs externally (e.g. government institutions, NGOs, etc.) and internally (with various Ateneo units) in support of the University’s strategies related to social development and community engagement and other related activities in alignment with the University’s strategic goals for nation-building.
  • Works to support, coordinate and align social development efforts of various Ateneo units (e.g. Loyola Schools, Professional Schools, Basic Education Units, the Social Development Council, etc.)
  • Networks and collaborates with other Ateneo-affiliated Universities and Jesuit institutions in support of the Society of Jesus Social Apostolate mandates relating to formation and social development (e.g. social formation of students, political participation activities)
  • Oversees the management of student groups under the OVPSD (such as the OVPSD Student Arm and Lights for Hope)

Monitoring, Evaluation and Research

  • Monitors and evaluates the progress of ongoing programs and partnerships of the office
  • Generates resources and reference materials for research-based projects
  • Monitors the operations and consolidates data on the ongoing social development initiatives that the OVPSD heads (e.g. DReaM Team relief operations, Food Systems Summit, political mobilization initiatives)
  • Recommends directions of the office to the VPSD based on data collected from social development initiatives
  • Works with Ateneo units for the tracking and documentation of social impact efforts of the University (e.g. SQMO for THE Social Impact Rankings, OSCI, LS-FSIC and LSQA for PAASCU Accreditation)

Advocacy Promotion

  • Prepares reports and/or communication materials to promote essential developments in the University’s social involvements.
  • Coordinates the development/conceptualization of communication materials, in coordination with the University Marketing and Communications Office.
  • Manages the online communities of projects under the OVPSD (i.e. Ateneans, for Voters’ Registration, Volunteers of the OVPSD Student Arm, Food Systems Community Dialogues)
  • Continuously develops the Social Engagement Strategy Framework of the OVPSD

Administrative

  • Drafts memos, letters, interview notes, and other messages for the VPSD
  • Creates slides for presentations as requested by the VPSD
  • Takes notes/minutes of meetings attended
  • Processes documents and permits necessary for the implementation of projects (e.g. Ethics approval, applications to awards, etc.)
  • Submits budget proposals as needed to implement ongoing projects

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree related to Social Sciences, Community Engagement, or any other related field.
  • At least 4 years of work experience related to social development and nation building, especially in the areas of research, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Must have strong networking/partnership-building skills
  • Is able to work with different stakeholders (academe, government, community partners, etc.)
  • Able to adapt to various working environments, both remotely and face-to-face
  • Must have good people management skill
  • Is updated on current political events and issues, especially in relation to social development
  • Is orientated onwards data-driven community interventions
  • Has experience with monitoring and evaluation, or any other research projects
  • Is able to operationalize measurements for impact assessment
  • Has basic knowledge of online applications (i.e. Google Suite, Zoom, etc.)
  • Ability to use new media technologies for effective communication and PR an advantage
  • Is able to communicate effectively in English and Filipino (oral and written)
